About Us

The beginning

The company began in 2007, when founders Barry and Annie Wiebe decided to diversify their existing custom-welding company to include pre-engineered steel building installation as a service. Proving their skill in the trade, Barry and Annie were joined by Bernhard Teichroeb to form a team which set out to grow the company's steel building construction capacity.

In 2009, Wiebe's Steel Structures was incorporated, and it has continued to grow ever since.

Growing the Company

Not long after incorporating, Wiebe's began to expand its reach. In 2010, Wiebe's was awarded its first project out of province, in Arlee, Saskatchewan. Three years later, the company moved from a home-office to its current headquarters, and completed its first Alberta project, in Edmonton. In 2014, Wiebe's completed its first job in Ontario, a fly-in project in Poplar Hill First Nation, and another in Nunavut.

That same year, the company went through a re-brand to the logo and colours in use today: a dark blue A-frame, an icon synonymous with pre-engineered steel buildings, resting atop the W of "Wiebe's," the foundation of the company.
The following years saw numerous milestones: in 2016, Wiebe's completed its first general contracting job in Moose Lake, Manitoba; several office renovations, which turned a former lumber store into an office for the growing number of staff; the first BC project in Maple Ridge in 2018; construction of Pennwood Dairy Barn in 2020, Wiebe's largest project to date; and many more.

Wiebe's Today

Today, Wiebe's has undergone rapid growth and expanded its services. Locally to its headquarters, the company completed several large general contracting projects, including HeatMasterSS (formerly SteelTech) and Drive Products.

In 2023, Wiebe's was awarded its first major conventional steel construction project as part of the Boundary Trails Health Centre expansion. In 2024, the company officially opened its office in Crossfield, Alberta, to expand westward operations.
