RM of Stanley, 2023
The Boundary Trails Health Centre expansion project was a massive and important undertaking with Penn-co Construction serving as its General Contractor. Wiebe’s was hired onto the project tot install the structural steel for both the new in-patient care facility and a new energy centre.
The in-patient facility features 32,000-square-feet of floor space across two stories. Wiebe’s craned in over 1100 structural components due to limited site-access, and installed 163 open-web joists, framed 54 mechanical floor openings, and installed over 48,000-square-feet of decking. Because the structure is a post-disaster building, Wiebe’s also installed over 15,000 Nelson studs through the decking into the structural steel.
The energy centre, which began construction in 2024, houses electrical hardware for the complex. It consists of a main structure with a smaller structure on top and a cable tray feeding the adjacent buildings. Wiebe’s installed the structural steel, roof decking, galvanized wind screen, sheeting, etc.
